Distribution

B2B distribution for
attractions and experiences

A booking engine puts a cart on your website. Distribution puts your experience in front of buyers you do not have yet. These are different products.

B2B attraction distribution means making your live inventory bookable by verified trade buyers, so travel agencies can sell your experience to their clients without contacting you first. It is the difference between software that processes the demand you already have and a channel that brings you demand you do not.

Most operators who feel their booking system is underperforming do not have a software problem. They have a distribution problem. This page explains what B2B distribution actually involves, what to look for in a network, and how listing works in the DMC Quote portal.

Booking engine or distribution channel

These get sold interchangeably and they are not the same thing.

  • A booking engine converts visitors who already found you. It improves the yield on traffic you paid for or earned. If nobody comes to your site, a better checkout changes nothing.
  • A distribution channel puts your product in a place where buyers are already shopping. It creates demand that did not exist for you before.

You want both, but they solve different problems and you should know which one you are actually short of. If your conversion rate is fine and your traffic is small, more checkout features will not help you. Distribution will.

What to look for in a B2B network

Not every network is worth listing in. The questions that matter:

  • Are the buyers verified? An open marketplace anyone can join is not a trade channel, and your net rates will leak.
  • How many active buyers are in your market and category? A large global number is meaningless if none of them sell your destination.
  • Do you keep rate control? You should set the trade rate, and it should never appear on a public page.
  • Is it live inventory or an allotment? Allotment strands stock and risks overselling; live inventory shares one capacity number across every channel.
  • What does it cost, all in? Booking fee plus any platform fee plus payment processing, at your real volume.
  • Do you find out about bookings immediately? A booking you learn about on arrival day is an operational problem.

How distribution works in the DMC Quote portal

One entry, every channel

Enter a product once with photos, timings, capacity and rates. It becomes sellable on your own booking page, at your counter through POS, and to travel agents, all against one inventory and one capacity number. There is nothing to re-key and nothing to reconcile between channels.

Verified buyers only

2,349 approved travel agencies across 102 countries. Every agency is verified before it can see or book anything, so your trade rate stays inside the trade.

You set the rate, you hear about every booking

Agents book at the rate you set. You are notified of every booking as it happens, so your operations team is never surprised at the gate.

Tickets that hold up

Every booking issues a QR e-ticket, scanned on any phone or tablet, redeemable once. An agent booking arrives at your gate as a working ticket, not an email your staff have to interpret.

What it costs

A one time setup fee of USD 100 at registration, then a flat 2% booking fee on tickets sold. The rate is identical at every volume, so distribution does not get more expensive as it starts working. There is no monthly licence fee. Everything is confirmed in writing in your operator agreement before you go live.

Payment collection for your own direct bookings stays with you and your own merchant account. Agent bookings settle on the terms agreed in your operator agreement.

Or choose the Operator bundle for SGD 5,000: your listing plus your own booking website, set up for you, with the first 12 months of its SGD 50 a month subscription included.

Who can be distributed

Listing is for operators who own the experience and control the inventory: attractions, theme parks, zoos and aquariums, museums, water parks, observation decks, day tour and safari companies, activity providers and transfer operators.

Travel agents and resellers cannot list, because they do not own the inventory they would be distributing. If you are an agency, the buying side of the portal is free to join. If you both operate your own experiences and resell others, you can list the ones you operate.

Questions

Before you sign up

Anything not covered here, ask us during onboarding. Nothing is published until you are ready.

Making your live inventory bookable by verified trade buyers, so travel agencies can sell your experience to their clients at a rate you set, without contacting you for every booking.

An OTA puts you in front of consumers comparing you on price, at a public rate. A B2B network puts you in front of agencies building itineraries, at a trade rate that stays inside a closed portal and never undercuts your own gate price.

There are currently 2,349 approved agencies across 102 countries in the portal. Every one is verified before it can book. How many of them sell your destination depends on your market.

No. You set the rate agents book at, and it is only visible inside the portal to verified agencies. Nothing is published to consumers at that rate.

A one time setup fee of USD 100, then a flat 2% booking fee on tickets sold. The rate is the same at any volume, and there is no monthly licence fee.

Onboarding is four steps: create your operator account, verify your business, add your products through the guided wizard, and go live once they are approved. How fast you finish depends mostly on how quickly you can supply your business documents and product photos.
