DMC Quote is a booking and ticketing platform for attraction, tour and activity operators, and a direct alternative to GlobalTix. You get a booking page, real time inventory, QR e-tickets that your staff scan at the gate, and a listing in front of the travel agents already buying through the DMC Quote portal. Pricing is a one time USD 100 setup fee and a flat 2% on each ticket sold, with no monthly licence fee and no volume tiers.

Most operators start looking for an alternative for one of three reasons: the fee goes up or down with volume in a way that is hard to forecast, distribution is limited to channels they already had, or the platform sells them software without helping them get seen. This page covers what we do differently and, just as importantly, what you should check before you move.

Why operators look for an alternative

The three complaints we hear most often from operators running a ticketing platform they want to leave:

  • Pricing that changes with volume. Tiered rates reward the largest operators and quietly penalise everyone below the threshold. If you sell a few thousand tickets a year you often pay the highest rate in the table.
  • Distribution that is really just software. A booking engine puts a cart on your site. It does not put your experience in front of anyone new. Those are two different products, and only one of them grows your sales.
  • A website you still have to build yourself. Plenty of platforms give you a widget and assume you already have a site to put it on. Many smaller operators do not.

If none of those describe you, your current platform is probably fine and switching is not worth the disruption. We would rather tell you that than sell you a migration you do not need.

What DMC Quote does differently

One flat rate at any volume

A flat 2% booking fee on tickets sold, plus a one time USD 100 setup fee. There is no monthly licence fee and no volume band. A small operator pays the same rate as a large one, which means your cost per ticket is the same in your first month as in your best month, and your margin is predictable before you have any sales history to forecast from.

Distribution to agents, not just a checkout

Your approved products appear to 2,349 approved travel agencies across 102 countries inside the DMC Quote portal. They book at the rates you set, and you are told about every booking. This is the part that is genuinely hard to replicate: the agent network already exists and is already buying.

We build your booking page

If you have a website, we add booking to it. If you do not, we build you a booking page using the photos, descriptions, timings and rates you enter during onboarding. You are not paying a web designer before you can start selling.

You keep your own merchant account

Payment collection is set up with you during onboarding and the money for your own direct bookings lands in your account, not ours. Agent bookings settle on the terms agreed in your operator agreement.

What to check before you switch

Switching ticketing platforms is disruptive, so do the comparison properly. Ask any vendor you are considering, including us, the same questions:

  • What is the all in cost at my actual volume? Not the headline rate. Add the booking fee, any monthly fee, payment processing, and anything charged per user or per product.
  • Where do bookings actually come from? Ask how many come from the platform distribution rather than from traffic you already had.
  • Who holds the customer payment, and when do I get it?
  • What happens to tickets already issued if I leave? Anything sold for a future date has to stay valid and scannable.
  • Can I export my product data, rates and customer records?
  • What does support look like in my timezone?

We publish our own answers to these on this site rather than only in a sales call. If a vendor will not answer them in writing before you sign, that is itself an answer.

How switching works

Onboarding is four steps and you control the pace of all of them.

  1. Create your operator account. A one time USD 100 setup fee is taken at registration.
  2. Verify your business. Upload your licence and registration documents. How fast you finish depends mostly on how quickly you can supply these.
  3. Add your products through the guided wizard, with photos, timings, capacity and rates.
  4. Go live once your products are approved. Nothing is visible to anyone until you say so.

You can run both systems in parallel while you move. Nothing here requires you to switch off your existing platform on day one.

What to compare, side by side

We have filled in our own column. Rather than state a competitor's terms on their behalf, which change and which we cannot verify for your account, the second column is the question to put to them directly.

Questions

Before you sign up

Anything not covered here, ask us during onboarding. Nothing is published until you are ready.

For the core job of selling and scanning tickets, yes: you get a booking page, real time inventory and capacity, QR e-tickets, gate scanning, promo codes, POS and reporting. The difference is emphasis. We are built around distribution to travel agents, and our pricing is one flat rate rather than volume tiers.

A one time setup fee of USD 100, then a flat 2% booking fee on tickets sold. The rate is the same at any volume, there is no monthly licence fee, and everything is confirmed in writing in your operator agreement before you go live. Or choose the Operator bundle for SGD 5,000: your listing plus your own booking website, set up for you, with the first 12 months of its SGD 50 a month subscription included.

Yes. Nothing requires you to switch off your existing system. Most operators list a few products with us first, watch the agent bookings come through, and move the rest once they are comfortable.

Operators who own the experience and control the inventory: attractions, theme parks, zoos and aquariums, museums, water parks, observation decks, day tour and safari companies, activity providers and transfer operators. Travel agents and resellers cannot list, because they do not own the inventory.

Once your products are approved they appear to approved travel agents inside the DMC Quote portal. There are currently 2,349 approved agencies across 102 countries. Agents book at the rates you set, and you are told about every booking.

For your own direct bookings, no. Payment collection is set up with you during onboarding and you keep your own merchant account. Agent bookings are settled through the terms agreed in your operator agreement.
