Indonesia offers flexible entry options for tourists, with Visa on Arrival (VOA) being the most popular choice for travelers visiting Bali, Jakarta, Lombok, and other destinations. The country has three main entry categories based on nationality.

ASEAN Privilege: Citizens from ASEAN countries enjoy visa-free entry for 30 days. No payment required at immigration.

Most Popular Option: VOA is available for citizens of 90+ countries at major airports and seaports. USD 35 for 30 days, extendable once.

How to Apply for e-Visa
- Visit the official Indonesia e-Visa portal: molina.imigrasi.go.id
- Create an account and select "Visa on Arrival" type
- Upload passport photo, passport bio page, and return ticket
- Pay the fee online (approximately USD 35 + service fee)
- Receive e-Visa via email within 3-5 working days
- Show e-Visa (printed or on phone) at immigration on arrival
Agent Tip: Apply at least 7-10 days before travel to allow for processing time. The e-Visa system can be slow during peak seasons.

Immigration Offices: Extensions can be done at Kantor Imigrasi in major cities including Denpasar (Bali), Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Lombok. Many visitors use visa agents to handle the process.
Entry Requirements for Indonesia
Required Documents for All Travelers
- Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry
- Return/Onward Ticket: Proof of departure from Indonesia
- Proof of Funds: Recommended USD 50-100 per day of stay
- Hotel Booking: Confirmation for at least first night
- Visa Fee: USD 35 cash or card (for VOA)
Health Requirements
COVID-19 (as of 2026): Indonesia has removed all COVID-19 related entry requirements. No vaccination proof, testing, or health declarations are currently required for entry.
Customs & Prohibited Items
- Duty-free allowance: 200 cigarettes, 1 liter alcohol, reasonable personal goods
- Declare cash exceeding IDR 100 million (approx. USD 6,500)
- Prohibited: Drugs (severe penalties), pornography, weapons, endangered species products
